Landed property is usually defined as any property that is owned outright by a person in Singapore. It is generally considered to be the highest form of residential real estate ownership in Singapore. In fact, the term ‘landed property’ is used interchangeably with ‘private residence’.
Landed property is generally considered to be the highest form of real estate ownership in Singapore. In fact, there are three categories of landed properties in Singapore: detached houses, semi-detached houses, and terraced houses.
These categories are further classified into four subcategories based on the number of storeys and the floor area ratio (FAR). Detached houses are the smallest category of landed properties, followed by semi-detached houses and terraced houses. Detached houses are those where each unit shares a separate boundary wall with its neighbours. They are generally larger than terraced houses, which are typically smaller and closer together.
